Last Friday, the South Coast Business Awards, organised by the Southern Daily Echo, Business Solent and Destination Southampton, were handed out. Among the 9 winners is GottaBe’s Managing Director, Tomasz Dyl who won the Southampton City Council Award for Southampton’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

– I’m ever so happy that my commitment and hard work over the last five years has been recognised. Starting off a business at the age of 17 is not a piece of cake – said Tomasz Dyl.

Tomasz was up against three other finalists from a range of companies within the Solent region. According to the judging panel that included representatives from Santander and Southampton City Council, Tomasz has shown passion for what he does and has set a clear expansion plan for his firm. As well as running his two businesses, he also impressed the judges with the voluntary and community work that he does outside of his business.

– Despite the Award being for me, as individual, I can’t forget about my teams, both of those who are office based as well as thousands of Brand Ambassadors and Event Managers across the UK and Ireland. Without these guys, we wouldn’t have achieved as much – said Tomasz Dyl.

The Polish born Young Entrepreneur of the Year set up field and experiential marketing agency at the age of 17, whilst at college.

Towards the end of last year, Tomasz also created Magazyn PL, a weekly magazine dedicated to the Polish Community in the South, where he is a joint managing director, which also won The Outstanding Student and Graduate Start-up of the Year back in May this year. He also volunteers at 103.9 Voice FM, where he produces and presents a weekly lunch time show as well as the 3-hours long Polish show and mentors and offers work experience to students, gives master classes and actively get involves in projects run by Southampton Solent University.

Tomasz graduated last year with a BA (Hons) Marketing with Advertising Management at Southampton Solent University.
