New Heights Podcast

In June 2024, Broadley Studios embarked on an exciting project: filming an episode of “New Heights,” the acclaimed football podcast hosted by Travis Kelce, in the vibrant city of London. Travis Kelce, a standout figure in the NFL representing the Kansas City Chiefs, teamed up with his brother Jason Kelce from the Philadelphia Eagles to provide listeners with an intimate look into their lives both on and off the field.

The episode titled “92%ers” was a special broadcast live from London’s Passyunk Avenue Bar, generously sponsored by Crown Royal.

The Challenge

Broadley Studios took on the challenge of transforming the venue into a professional podcasting studio, ensuring every detail was meticulously prepared to meet the needs of the client and create an engaging atmosphere for the hosts and audience alike.

From setting up lighting rigs to configuring audio equipment and ensuring optimal camera angles, Broadley Studios played a crucial role in setting the stage for the Kelce brothers’ dynamic podcast episode.

The Solution Delivered

To capture the essence of this dynamic episode, Broadley Studios deployed a comprehensive array of cutting-edge equipment.

Three Sony FX9 cameras were strategically positioned to capture multiple angles of the hosts and guests, ensuring viewers felt immersed in the lively discussions and activities of the podcast. The Shure SM7B microphones provided crystal-clear audio, capturing every word and enhancing the podcast’s overall production quality.

Audio recording was managed with precision using Zoom F8n Pro and Zoom F4 recorders, allowing for seamless integration of multiple microphone inputs and ensuring that even subtle nuances in the hosts’ voices were captured faithfully. Lighting played a crucial role in creating a visually appealing set; Broadley Studios utilised Kino Flo Diva Lite and Nanlite Forza 150B lights to achieve balanced and flattering lighting conditions, enhancing the clarity and depth of each shot captured by the cameras.

An Atomos Sumo monitor was employed for real-time monitoring, enabling the production team to make immediate adjustments to camera angles, lighting intensity, and audio levels throughout the filming process. This setup not only facilitated a smooth production workflow but also contributed to the overall professionalism and high production value synonymous with “New Heights.”

Podcast Success

The podcast episode wasn’t just about sports; it offered a glimpse into the Kelce brothers’ experiences beyond football.

Jason described attending the “Eras” tour and meeting members of the Royal family, highlighting their engaging personalities and diverse interests.

The brothers also engaged in a playful “London Slang Quiz,” revived their “Player’s As” segment with historical figures from the Revolutionary War, and tackled questions about the unique challenges of playing football internationally.

Since its broadcast, the episode has garnered tremendous attention, amassing over 1.1 million views and counting. The success of “New Heights” underscores not only the Kelce brothers’ appeal but also Broadley Studios’ capability to deliver high-quality production that resonates with a global audience.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate more engaging episodes of “New Heights” every Wednesday during the NFL offseason, available on major podcast platforms.

It was great to partner with Broadley Studios on this project. Broadley managed all the technical and recording aspects on set in London, capturing and transferring high quality footage to our LA team. The Broadley team facilitated communication between talent and overseas producers, maximising talent’s time on set and leading a smooth experience and great shoot.
