Multi-Camera Live Stream & Green Screen: EXPANA at Broadley
We recently hosted a multi-camera live stream for EXPANA at Broadley Studios, combining green screen Virtual Production, remote contributors and live audience engagement in a TV-style studio format. The session was delivered as a Zoom Webinar and built around a fully branded virtual set, with multiple presenters, remote guests and real time audience interaction.
The Virtual Set for EXPANA
The set was built in Unreal Engine and rendered live in Brainstorm3D Infinity Set and styled to feel like a modern TV broadcast. The environment included branded backdrops, integrated graphics and ambient lighting effects, all composited live against a green screen stage. The result was clean, professional and consistent, with enough flexibility to adapt the layout and visual tone across different segments of the show.
Four Sony FR7 cameras on MRMC robotic sliders provided smooth, repeatable framing throughout. The main broadcast ran for five hours, with six remote participants joining from the US using vMix Call. The programme was streamed live on Zoom while simultaneously recording six individual feeds for editing and repurposing after the event.
Multi-Camera Live Stream: Audience Engagement
Audience engagement was a key part of the format, with live polling and Q&A built into the structure of the broadcast. All graphics were run in real time within the virtual set, vision mixed using a Blackmagic ATEM Constellation to keep the stream clean and responsive throughout.
To accommodate presenter schedules, the first hour of the programme was pre-recorded in the studio and edited on site. We used our 10G link to upload the file to the studio server and played it out directly into the livestream, allowing the show to open smoothly and on time without requiring all presenters to be on site from the start.
The production also made use of both Gallery 1 and Gallery 2, which were linked via fibre connection. This setup allowed for a shared control room, additional edit and graphics support, and minimal setup or reset time between sessions.
